Introduction

Stoke Orchard Community Centre is a fabulous addition to our beautiful parish. The hall has been designed to the highest of standards with the environment in mind. There are 198 solar panels providing green energy along with a heat exchange system and under floor heating to keep the building warm. The hall is fully licensed for alcohol and music. The hall is fully accessible as it is all on one floor with wide doorways. In 2017, we received a national award from the Council for the Protection of Rural England! Completely not-for-profit and self-sponsoring, we rely on everyone's support and strive to provide a truly unique resource for the enjoyment of all.

History

In 2009, the Parish Council, working with the Land Development company who had bought the CRE site, started work on a scheme that would make residential redevelopment of the CRE site sustainable. It meant that the  Parish Council  could take the responsibility for the Development and have a large input into the design of the estate and of the homes themselves and to take on a shop, a Mini bus and a Community Centre.

On the 1st November 2014, the Parish Council received the keys to the Shop and the Community Centre. Opened by Lawrence Robertson, MP.  The centre is run by a management team of volunteers that reports to the Parish Council. In 2019 plans were laid to increase the storage space available on site and an extension was completed in 2020.
